ANNE CURTIS is Anne Ojales Curtis Smith in real life. Her family originally hails from Australia where Anne was also born. Her father is an Australian and her mother is a Filipina.
Anne and her family were having a vacation in the Philippines when she was discovered by a talent scout. an that's the beginning of her showbiz life.
Anne Curtis first appeared in GMA-7's teen oriented show TGIS where she was paired with Richard Gutierrez, who became her real life boyfriend at that time. It was followed by "Anna Karenina", "Ikaw Na Sana", "May Bukas Pa", "Beh Bote Nga", "Idol Ko Si Kap" and as host in "Mornings At GMA" and "SOP Rules".
In 2004, Anne made a bold decision and left GMA-7 for ABS-CBN. She was first given a hosting assignment in "ASAP" together with the other hot talents of the Kapamilya network. Anne was then casted in the primetime soap "Hiram" topbilled by Kris Aquino and Dina Bonivie. While doing "Hiram", Anne became a segment host for the showbiz oriented talk show "The Buzz" of Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino. She also hosted Qpids in ABS-CBN.
Then the big break came. Her superb performance in "Hiram" earned her a spot in the primetime with "Kampanerang Kuba" where Anne is in the lead role. "Kampanerang Kuba" is a TV remake of the hit movie of Vilma Santos in the 70's. The show made waves among primetime viewers earning Anne Curtis a name for herself in national TV.
Her newly found popularity led her hosting the reality show Pinoy Big Brother Buzz. Anne also starred in "Love Spell: Wanted Mr. Perfect", "Maalaala Mo Kaya: Salamin", "Komiks Presents: Alpha OMega Girl and Mamayang Hatinggabi". Her hosting skill also landed her a hosting job in "Star Circle Summer Kid Quest" and as VJ in "MTV Timeout" of MTV Philippines.
Anne also starred in "Maging Sino Ka Man" opposite Sam Milby, Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz. It was critically acclaimed and a top rater that it was followed immediately with its sequel "Maging Sino Ka Man: Book 2".
Anne's popularity even soared higher when she displayed her beautiful body in "Dyosa" in primetime TV. She was so popular with her role as "Dyosa" that she was even called by her fans "Dyosa". The show climbed the top of the TV ratings not only in Mega Manila but also in the national TV.
Anne returned hosting in ASAP'09 and guested in "May Bukas Pa" with the miracle boy "Santino". In early 2009, Anne starred in "The Wedding" opposite Zanjoe Marudo and Derek Ramsay. She is also scheduled to star in "Habang May Buhay" in late 2009 and "Save the Last Dance For Me" in 2010.
She appeared in her first movie "Magic Kingdom" as Princess Dahlia. It was followed by "Ika-13 Kapitulo", "Mahal Kita: Final Answer!", "Lastikman" as the young Linda, "Filipinas", "All About Love" and the horror flick "Wag Kang Lilingon".
Curtis also starred in the comedy film "Ang Cute Ng Ina Mo" and love-drama "When Love Begins". Her biggest movie yet is "Baler" opposite Jericho Rosales which earned her a Best Actress Award in the 34th Metro Manila Film Festival.
Anne Curtis is scheduled to star in her upcoming movie "Maybe This Time" opposite Richard Gutierrez in 2010 under GMA and Viva Films.
